Why Hormone Health? Let’s Talk Burnout.

A few years ago, I hit a level of burnout I couldn’t ignore. The kind where you can’t get out of bed. My body was crashing—and I didn’t know why.

It was a perfect storm of stressors:

 

  • My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and sadly, we lost him less than a year later. It was an incredibly heart-wrenching experience that deeply affected me and still does. 

  • I moved to the UK without a single friend or family member nearby aka support system (hello, loneliness).

  • I quit a toxic job during the pandemic (oh, the stress of that time!).

  • I started my own business, which is exciting and also hard (those business owners know what I mean!). 

  • I moved 10 times in 2 years, including 6 times during the pandemic (yep, you read that right).

  • To top it off, I couldn’t visit my family in Australia for 2.5 years. Cue homesick tears.

All of this left my body screaming for help. I experienced extreme fatigue, depression, insomnia, hot flashes, irregular periods, strong PMS, heart palpitations, chronic constipation, chronic yeast infections and chronic UTIs, —I was in my late 20s, and I felt like I was falling apart.

Doctor visits left me with few answers and no real solutions.

I had to convince one doctor to test me for low iron—they were certain it wasn’t the issue. When the results came back, my levels were shockingly low. That was a turning point for me. I realized how many women are struggling with real symptoms, only to be told everything looks ‘normal.’ 

 

I also paid £350 to see an endocrinologist—just to get a 15-minute appointment that ended without any clear answers or solutions. On the public health side, I spent 18-months in the NHS system trying to get further answers and understand my symptoms. These experiences showed me how broken and inaccessible hormone care can be, and why so many women feel lost and frustrated.

 

So I turned to my background in biology, began researching relentlessly, and eventually trained as a certified Hormone Health Coach. That’s when everything clicked.

I realized: your hormones are deeply impacted by your nutrition and lifestyle (stress, movement. sleep).

 

Once I started working with my body instead of against it—everything began to change.
